It's a commonplace trope of alternate history to talk about the potential for the British American colonies to become a Stuart/Jacobite breakaway kingdom, or for a surviving New France or Louisiana to become a royalist refuge after the French revolution. That New France goes Royalist is assumed far more often than New France remaining loyal to revolutionary Paris.

It makes me wonder why we have not seen more on the idea of the Spanish American colonies and Philippines, some or all of them, pledging allegiance to the Habsburg claimant, HRE Charles, even when Philip of Anjou wins control of Spain.

That ends up tying the pro-Habsburg colonies more closely in political terms to Austria, Belgium and Italy than to Bourbon Spain.

Could something like this happen and what would be the long-term effects of such a divide?
