Could the Mongol Empire have conquered the world?

Yodeling Koala Bears, beggers belief. Our daughter once asked a high school classmate from Thailand if he wasn't worried about being invaded by China as a rebellious province. Her teacher, Mr Smith, who was New Mexico teacher of the year merely said "Thailand, not Taiwan!" She then spent two years going to an IB International School in Hong Kong (New Territories) called Li Po Chun and is now far more cognizant of geography.

It was like when I was having an argument over someone about the Afghan War. He was convinced that Afghanistan had been invaded to proivde a Springboard for invading the Middle East to wipe out Muslims. I pointed out that Afghanistan is actually in central Asia and is closer to china than it is to Iraq. He then used that claim to back up a potential attack on Indonesia. I told him invaing New Zealand would probably be better then he tried to punch me.

Funny thing is, when you said "rebellious Chinese province", my first thought was Vietnam.
