Could the DNVP have negated Versailles as easily as the Nazis did?

POD: Hitler dies during the Beer Hall Putsch, and the Nazis fade away as a political movement. Nationalist and anti-Versailles sentiment still exists, obviously, and butterflies lead the DNVP to electoral victory in 1928 or 1930. Hugenberg takes power, the flag is changed, democracy subverted, and Weimar is dead. Let's assume for the sake of simplicity, however, that they don't bother restoring the monarchy.

Where does the DNVP go from here in terms of foreign policy? Going back into the Rhineland would be an easy step, if OTL is anything to go by, but would a more economically reasonable remilitarisation have even worked? Would they have the guts to go for Anschluss out of the gate, and would Austria resist? Finally, what would happen with Danzig?
