Could Sealion have worked If?

How about having the Germans capture the entire BEF, then ask for the British to sue for peace or if they declined gas the entire BEF.

:)

While I doubt Sealion could ever work, I always have issue with the "war games" proving it was doomed to failure. The war games always have the German units surrendering instantly, no major skirmish, no hold outs, just British troops find the Germans and they win.

It's not that difficult. Soldiers out of ammunition, fuel, and even food, tend to surrender quickly. The point is not that the British ground troops find the Germans and win. The point is that the Royal Navy finds the supply/reinforcement convoys, sinks them, and wins.

I assume you are joking right? The German army would have revolted against Hitler if he mandated the execution of POWs. The mistreatment Russian Pows received was due to the fact that the Soviet Union was not a signatory of the Geneva convention.

I have to agree with this.
Its also not as if England is some vast territory within in which the Germans can hide. The British forces will find any German force beyond a few dozen men relatively quickly. That force cannot very easilly withdraw since they can only advance into British forces or back into the sea. Once the Germans are found they face somewhere in the region of 10-1 odds while being without supplies or considerable equipment.

It might take a couple of weeks to mop up all the last of the German forces, and people might keep imagining they have found some Germans in woods for several months afterwards, but the attack would have clearly failed within a couple of days.
