Could Nazi Germany have been able to supply oil to Japan had the British surrendered ?

The main reason Japan attacked the Yanks was cause of the embargo right . But had Germany been able to say conquer southern Russia and get Britain to surrender quickly , would the war be postponed a few yrs at the least? With german economic investiture , the Japs could simply salvage the remnants of the colonial empire slowly but steadyily without having to attack the Americans , which they did in haste in our timeline due to demand for oil and other resources.

My understanding is that the germans didnt have the tankers required to do so, only the US, Britain and Norway did, so unless they could get Britain or Norway deliver it i doubt it

None of the Axis powers had any sort of a tanker fleet to move Oil from Baku, that would take years of construction

Who is still fighting whom in your scenario? Is US in the war at all?

Russians were practicing scorched earth as they retreated. Doubt they would leave the oil fields intact. If they systematically destroyed all the wells, it could take a while before any oil is being pumped. Even pulling a Saddam and setting them all on fire would be a setback.

Britain had zero reason to "surrender" and the Nazis had zero means to force them to do so. At worst, UK might get scared enough post fall of France to offer an armistice. By 1941, it's too late for even that.

They wouldn't need to, just have the occupied Dutch government have the DEI give/sell the Japanese oil. Then it is on the Japanese to come up with the tankers.

And you are back to Pearl Harbor, as the IJN didn't want the USA able to cut off supplies

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the occupied Dutch government not even in control of the Dutch East Indies in the first place - was rather certain the Dutch Government in Exile was in charge of the DEI.

if Britain surrendered the dutch government in exile probably would have given up and would have been forced to supply japan with oil.

Since the assumption is the Britain cuts a deal the Dutch exile government is more likely than not going to cut a deal and return home before the Japanese say they are helping the Germans bring to heel a rebellious colonial and occupy it themselves like the did with French Indochina. It wouldn't be like Japan had much to lose at that point.

But that doesn't cure the IJN paranoia of US forces being able to interdict from the Philippines
