Could Napoleon have blockade the Russian trade with GB through the Danish strait?

In 1812, when Tsar Alexander broke the continental blockade, could Napoleon just have installed some powerful canons in the strait of Denmark to prevent Petersburg to receive ships from UK? I assume that trade throught Arkhangelsk is minimal due to the distance to inner Russia, same as for Caucasus/Iran/Central Asia. The other option being Crimea but afaik, the Ottoman just were at war against Russia and may not agree and certainly sees the French as a powerful threat.

I do not think so. After the British attack in 1807 which took the Danish fleet, the Danes were more enthusiastic than most of Bonaparte's "allies". The RN was still able to convoy merchants through.

Laughs in Royal Navy.

After the thorough kicking the RN has given most fleets put to sea against it for a decade or more... you also underestimate the difference between coastal defences with high RoF, high-range rifled breechloaders of a century later and French naval artillery c.1812. All the RN needs to do is sail out of range, suppress with counter-battery fire and/or land shore parties.
