Looking through history, Manicheanism seems to have established itself just about everywhere, from England all the way to southern China. In the end, however, it would die out by the 14th century, with most Manichean being murdered and the rest hiding off and dying out.
However, just by the absolutely massive spread and popularity, it could have, among other things, out competed Christianity in Rome, established itself farther in China by patronage of Khanates and even appeaser Emperors, and have turned Persia into the theological center of the world.
That all being said, it leads to one question: could Manicheanism have become a one world religion? By that, I mean that all major nations of the world are Manichean, and the majority (rather than a plurality) of the world are Manicheans. Furthermore, what repercussions might this have on the world, and how might it come about?
