Could Italy have beaten Greece in 1940?

I don't know as much about this area of WWII as I should; but from what I've heard, Mussolini made a lot of massive mistakes when he attacked Greece. Is it possible, with a realistic POD after the declaration of war in October, that Italy could have overrun Greece and defeated Metaxas?

You PoD would need to be before the declaration of war in October, some proper planning and preparation would be required; the Italian attack lacked both.

Conventionally? I don't see why it's beyond the capabilities of the Italians.

I think it's the long, painful attrition of unconventional warfare that will make a sustained presence in Greece difficult to start with and eventually impossible.
