Could German Invasion of Britain Succeed ? After France Falls ?

There is a mention of the RN being prevented from participating, but I forget the exact reason

The entire RN Home Fleet goes blind drinking cocktails made of a mix of Red Lead paint, Asbestos and bootleg Gin whilst smoking cigarettes in the powder magazine. Or more plausiblly the Tharingian Plasma Battle Fleet from the Orion Nebula sign an alliance with Hitler and drop Photon Torpedoes on Scapa Flow.

All I remember was thinking "BS" back then and chuckling that Hood was specifically mentioned as a casualty of the sea campaign of Sealion.

I want to say German ships including at least one of the Twins sortie as a distraction, but the book is somewhere in a storage shed in Portland, Maine, and I am in Prague...

First off, elect more appeasers to the British Parliament. Secondly, German torpedo bombers and mine-layers pen the Home Fleet into Scapa Flow.
Thirdly,German gliders, paratroopers and Marine infantry capture a port along the east coast of Britain and stave off Home Guard efforts until a significant number of Panzers can be craned ashore.
Play the ball .........

I mean i read about the Plan to invade Britain ? How plausible was it ? Would it be able to succeed ?
What would it take to succeed ? what would be casaulity ratio ? I mean germans biggest strenghts were panzer divisions and i dont know how would they be able to transport it throught royal navy parked in the the Channel ? Gentlemen opinions ?
Please specify what plan and which timeline you are asking about; there are a number of German plans for invading Britain (assuming that we are talking about a context of World War 2 here), both historical and fictitious, and generally the ones which involve Alien Space Bats, future technology, or a wildly different system of national alliances by mid-1940 are the ones which come across as most plausible and likely to succeed.

1) Possible but unlikely. Until Hitler reneged on Munich and invaded the rest of Czechoslovakia the territory he gained had German majority populations.
2) How? Divine Intervention? The Brits did have fighters and minesweepers and torpedo bombers are very vulnerable to being downed by Hurricanes and Spitfires and IIRC don't have the range anyways. Minelayers are laughably easy to sink.
3) Again how? Dropping, at most , a few thousand light infantry isn't going to conquer GB or even be able to last long.

I am sure we have all written a sea lion idea, story or time line. My own was in 1983 and I was 19. I had the RAF hammered for no real reason and the RN was surprised by a sudden attack. Paratroopers captured Dover but Britain did not surrender. The Germans big ships were wiped out trying to guard the eastern approaches and the transports were mostly sunk. The isolated invaders fought on for 4 days before surrendering. Kennedy was killed by a stray bomb while observing and the whole thing brought America into the war by September 1941.
actually it was the back story for a champions campaign I was running so my players could time travel without me doing too much research☺
