Could France be better ruled under a different King?

Well, I wasn't exactly going to butterfly away the revolution, I don't think it would be possible during the second half, or after Louis XV, which was where I was going with in the potential PoD's I want to work with.

As for your suggestion, Louis, Dauphin of France was heavily influenced by the Dévot faction (so was Le Petit Dauphin), which opposed the absolutism stressed by Cardinal Richelieu and implemented by Louis XIV and maintained under Louis XV. So the Dauphin might be a good bet at a more decentralized, and perhaps even a constitutional France.

However, it would be one controlled by the nobility and aristocracy, as said Dévot rejected the centralized government in the hands of commoners, even if they were from the upper middle class, the bourgeoisie. In addition, said faction also was more supportive of allying with Catholic powers such as Austria and Spain, and allying with the former even with the PoD in mind, would be terrible in the eyes of the French public. Both cases would probably still cause a revolution, perhaps one even worse than it's OTL counterpart.
You forget the important aspect of Richelieu's successor, Mazarrin, a figure of french history quite overlooked perhaps. This guy was one who faced the Fronde was key to perhaps finally make the Roy rule over the nobles. He was also an important figure for the maturing boy who would be Louis XIV.
