Could Chinese Americans Have Stopped Mao?

I don't know how organised as a group they are, but they must be substantial enough in numbers. Could they have in any way prevented the original Communist Civil War success or stopped or undermined Mao in any way subsequently. Indeed, did any Mao supporters live in America and could trouble as a consequence happen in mainland USA?

Ah, the anti-communists had a better chance and they tried in OTL. Chinese Americans weren't too hot for Chiang in any case.

Which actually gives us a reasonable POD; if Chinese-Americans were to get dramatically involved in the politics of their homeland in the late 20's or early 30's, in such a way as to force Chiang out of power or at least force him to undertake meaningful reform on corruption and local democracy, the CCP looks a hell of a lot less attractive to most Chinese people. What it came down to IOTL, after all, was that the CCP didn't seem as extreme as they turned out to be, and they looked a hell of a lot less corrupt than the KMT.

I'm rather amused by the implicit supposition that the Chinese world is divided in two parts, Chinese people in China and Chinese-Americans. America is just one destination among others for a Chinese diaspora that counts tens of millions of members worldwide, most of them in South-East Asia.

And for the record, the Chinese diaspora in general--not just Chinese-Americans--has been politically involved all along.

And quite a few backed Mao too...
