Could a Democrat win in 1952?

Changing nothing about the Truman Presidency, can a Democrat win the 1952 Presidential Election? Changing the race is fairgame, so Ike can lose the nomination to Taft etc.

It would be much closer against Taft, but I am still inclined to think that frustration with the Korean War would be hard for the Democrats to overcome.

Korean War hardly would help Democrats getting White House on '52. And they had presidency already 30 years on row. It is quiet long time in democratic country. Altough if there is someone like Taft as Republican candidate Democat candidate might win. Or then if Eisenhower joins to Democrats instead Republicans.

Thirty years, try twenty. Ike runs as a Democrat. Piece of cake. But seriously I don't think the Democrats had much chance in '52. As said the best bet is against somebody other than Imf. Otherwise its pretty much like running against god. Or another analogy. Running against Bobby Lee or Stonewall Jackson in a victorious CSA
