Corporate Swap: Whitman/Fiorina

With a POD of 2000, have Fiorina be as acclaimed as Whitman as HP CEO while having Whitman start off strong as Fiorina did, then falter and get removed. Bonus if Fiorina is still CEO in the present day, Double Bonus if she makes it to DC as SecComm, SecTreas or CEA Chairman.

Scenario 2: Have Fiorina survive in 2005 and HP begins upticking again. Use the 1979-82 comparison vis-a-vis Thatcher/Reagan- it will get slightly worse before it comes roaring back with a vengeance maybe. From what I've seen, it wasn't so much crashing and burning as overpromising and failing to deliver on over-ambitious goals within the set timeframe. Actually, that reminds me of the President right now vis-a-vis his '08 campaign promises. :p

While I'm not sure about Wall Street's perceptions, California adored Fiorina - right up to the moment she was found wiretapping her employees' home phones without their knowledge or consent. (Yes, it's highly illegal, no, I'm not sure why she's a free woman.) An HP that keeps her is an HP that will find its corporate headquarters rezoned residential if that's what it takes to be rid of her. Keeping that from coming to light is pretty hard; keeping her from doing it is making a significant change in her.

Isn't this likely to belong in Chat?
