I know that the Portuguese set up an Inquisition in Goa that was at least partially successful in converting Indians to Catholicism.... however, here's my question:
what if either the EIC or Britain itself had tried during the time it ruled India to convert the population to Christianity... and tried hard too, not just halfheartedly. And they tried to convert all peoples, not just Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, or Muslims. How successful would it have been? none? sort of? a lot?
