Constitution requires Borda count to elect officers

What do you think would have happened had the Constitution required all elections to be done via Borda count? Specifically, if there are N candidates running (of all parties), each voter picks his first choice, second choice, and so forth all the way down to Nth choice. The first choice candidate gets N points, the second N-1, and so forth up to the last choice who gets 1.

Most points wins.

If there are too many candidates, you can eliminate half of them or so each round (the people with the fewest points are eliminated) and keep on going until someone wins.

If there's a candidate who gets 100% support from half the people and 0% support from the other half, you'd get a much more polarized and dangerous situation if he were a elected than a candidate who got 60% support from everyone.

Just checking, the US costitution? Anyway, that would be long ago. They didn't have computers making it hard to do all the math. And how about education? It requires a understanding of % which isn't the first you learn in school.
