Consequences of a Kapampangan Luzon

What would be the consequences if Ilocano and Tagalog lost ground to Kapampangan and Cebuano became the only language in Samar and Negros?

Is a balkanization of the Philippines in cards? or it will remain united Post-Colonization.

It'll probably just mean that Kapampangan becomes the national language of the Philippines (instead of Tagalog) and the basis for Filipino.

It depends if or who will colonize it. The islands are too close to each other to be divided, TBH. If a colonial power try their luck, they won't just settle for Luzon, Visayas or Mindanao alone.

The POD is during the Spanish colonization of the Philippines.

^ If that's the case then it might be the same as OTL. You just replaced the Tagalogs with another ethnolinguistic group.

For a balkanization to happen, you must prevent Spain from gaining the entire archipelago, because they're going to unite it one way or another.

During the time Philippines was getting independent from Spain it was about to break apart, the Americans prevented this from happening.

The notion of breaking apart philippines is realistic idea but a very impractical one. Other than luzon, no other island can retain independence.

The kampapangans would not be able to dominate luzon without havin an earlier pod than spanish time. Majority of the post brunei powerhouses of luzon were Tagalogs.

The Rulers of Tondo styled themselves as rulers of Tagalogs - but that was not an ethnic term for them - the core regions ruled by the House of Tondo and later Bolkiah are Kapampangan Speaking, if the House of Tondo or Bolkiah ended up ruling Luzon what we call as Tagalog would most likely been called as Kumintang.

During the Spanish Conquest, Kapampangans had an Advantage over Tagalogs - Region III was purely/largely Kapampangan and can support a large Population - Compared to the Tagalog core regions(Batangas and Southern Quezon) which was Mountainous and Hilly, Tondo was even Kapampangan speaking during the time of Spanish conquest.
