Confederate victory in New Mexico

In point of fact they did win the battle, but lost the campaign when the Union troops captured and destroyed their supply train.

If they avoid that particular disaster their victory will avail them next to nothing; in the larger context of the whole war New Mexico is irrelevant. And the Union forces will throw them out eventually anyway; they're coming east from California, south from Colorado, and southwest from Kansas, and the Confederates have practically shot their bolt already. There are no more troops to send from Texas; all available troops are already spoken for.

Exactly, the problem for the South is that the North has far more troops to send to the West than the South does. The CSA was short of troops as is, sending more west exasperates it. What it does is disperse its strength over a wider area and weakens it.
