Conclusion of the Sengoku without Western firearms/other trade?

Europeans first reached Japan, bringing firearms, Christianity, and other technologies and ideas, after Japan had already fallen into protracted civil war. Firearms helped eventual victors in the Sengoku, Nobunaga in particular, to win crucial battles, and the introduction of Christianity complicated Japanese politics even further. What would have happened without this trade? If Europeans are delayed in reaching around Africa and eventually making it to Japan, who wins the Sengoku? Does it drag on indefinitely, or would it have been resolved quickly by some other daimyo with a more traditional power base?

It would likely last longer and would be far more bloody. I would also expect more use of the ninja (subject of the existence of the real ninja is still of historical debate, but I do believe there were assassins and spies acting in the Sengoku period, but not the Hollywood style we know and love) - how best to remove your enemy than remove the leader?
