No one hears about how Colonel A.D. Wintle tried to get the French air force to defect in WWII (even more interesting if it occurred instead of Dunkirk).

The entirety of ancient and medieval history is overlooked.

Economic and financial history is overlooked, as is the history of the Russian Civil War which deserves more attention.
