I've put together a basic tutorial on how to use QGIS as I've been getting a lot questions lately for various fora as to how I make make my maps.
I need a few of map makers who will look over my Google Docs file and make comments on it about steps that may be unclear, ones they think are missing, etc… The tutorial is directed at people who are already making maps with drawing programs like Inkscape or Adobe Illustrator and are familiar with using multiple layers to trace images to build up their own map. It assumes zero knowledge of mapping software and takes the reader through the entire process of creating a simple map and producing high resolution output either as a PNG or JPEG or as a SVG to continue editing in Inkscape or Illustrator for artistic tasks than cannot be done either easily or at all in QGIS.
I know there's a small few people out there already using QGIS, and you're welcome to comment, too.
