hey, all. since ive more or less finished up with the history of the Aztec Empire from my ASB ATL, i kinda want to cover the territorial evolution of South America next, sorta because i mentioned it alot in writing up the Aztecs' history, so i was hoping that others would give me some help.
i'm not working on South America's actual history here, but instead just on what the borders would look like given changes ive already decided on and what other changes could/would come up or just look interesting (in addition to rough plausibility, i like to make aesthetically pleasing maps). for the purposes of this thread, i DON'T want to debate the plausibility of the Aztec Empire and focus JUST on South America

some things that ive already decided on for South America are:
- most of South America will remain under European colonial rule through to the 21st century; an idea i have is that the dominating power, Spain, enacts an analogy to the 1867 Constitution Act that more or less made Canada what it is IOTL, which encourages their colonies on the continent to not revolt
- as a consequence of the Napoleonic Wars, the Dutch cede their colony in the area to the French, so French Guiana also includes OTL Suriname
- Britain may retain Guyana through to the present-day, or it may be ceded to Brazil at some time
- Brazil may become independent at around the same time as IOTL; if it does, i'm not sure about the fates of Paraguay and Uruguay
- there may be a Patagonian country separate of *Argentina, but i'm having second thoughts about this
- definitively, Spain will control (most of) OTL Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina; Portugal will initially control OTL Brazil and possibly Paraguay and/or Uruguay; Britain will control the Falklands and (initially) OTL Guyana; and France will control OTL Guiana and Suriname
- even though there's an Aztec Empire, there's no persisting Incan Empire
