Colonial Africa without the WW's

Suppose Germany takes an isolationist position after 1871 - it tries to keep together the DKB as long as possible and afterwards allies Russia rather than Austria, for merely defensive reasons, as they'd also drop their colonial projects so as to better relations with France and Britain. Any World War is averted, if there is any European conflict it's contained to the degree of a small, regional fight. Now that the colonial masters get a practically free hand on the black continent, what does their vision regarding the region look like in practice? To what extent were the various great powers interested in pushing settler colonialism in more liveable areas, such as Algiers, Lybia, South Africa, Rhodesia etc. How were such prospects going to shape these respective societies? Just how much wealth was there to be extracted from the ground with masses of cheap labour and stability to discover resources and invest into their respective industries?

TL;DR - How much of a money grab could Africa have been if not for the WW's?

Lots more english settlers in the less malarial places. Perhaps as the US/south america start closing immigration down in the 1920s/30s depending by country we see South Africa, Southern Rhodeisa and to a lesser extent places like Northern Rhodesia or Kenya getting more euros.

Afrikaners being outvoted by a flood of brits in South Africa means South Africa's racial views/policy evolve with the rest of the TTL west or at least don't lag any more than say this world's US south would. Remove the world wars and one possible side effect could be that to use a random timeframe, 50 years without world wars and you could have a significantly less segregated South Africa in *1964 than in our 1964.

There really wasn't much difference between Apartheid South Africa and the Jim Crow South. Also, any country with a black majority would never implement full democracy. Even in OTL, you rarely see a dominant racial minority willingly grant equal rights to the oppressed majority. In the few cases where they do, "White Flight" is the most common result.

The problem with this is Alsace-Lorraine. The French want it back!
When and in which context do they want it back?
Mainstream historiography keeps knocking on the same keyboard button about France wanting A-L so badly they were willing to go to war for it, but, IIRC, diplomatic alliances prior to WWI weren't so solid and unilateral, and the public was mostly divided over the issue of war.

Well, partially the "A-L" craze was built on pre-war sentiment, but the "redemption" narrative was also a key fabrication during and immediately post-war in order to justify the suffering and costs and envelop them with a larger, more sacred meaning of national reunification. Similar to the national myth the Gaulists built during and immediately post WW II about the extent and tenacity of the Resistance and the relative downplaying of collaberationists and Communists. And since the propaganda of the time was screamed much more loudly and with more conviction, even those who made it up started beleiving it... to say nothing of the people who don't have a deep knowledge of pre-war French domestic politics.
