Vice Admiral Michael Colley joined the Libertarian National Committee in 2004. He served in the Gulf War and after he left the Navy Colley stayed fairly active in fields of National Security, intel, and public sector management.
Judge Jim Gray (Johnson's 2012 running mate) ran for Senate that year and considered being the Presidential nominee that year. He was the presiding Judge of the Superior Court of Orange County and a number of state and county advisory committees.
What if the 2004 Libertarian ticket had been Colley-Gray? Could they perhaps have pulled enough votes to give Kerry the win?
