I'm sorry if this has been done before I couldn't find another thread on this, but if I remember correctly in his autobiography former President Bill Clinton wrote that he considered not running in 1992, seeing 1996 as a better bet for the White House. So, let's presume like so many other potential democratic candidates, Bill Clinton is scared off by President Bush's wartime popularity and instead prepares for a race in 1996.
Who's the Democratic nominee in 1992? Paul Tsongas? Jerry Brown?
Is Bush reelected?
What is the democratic primary field like in 1996? Does Governor Clinton have a chance to win the nomination then, or will he be pushed out by more substantial party figures?
