I was just wondering something kind of funny inspired by another thread.
Suppose a faction was trying to put a claimant on the throne of a kingdom than never had precedent of a ruling Queen. Let's call him Claimant A. A dies. OK no problem, he has a son, claimant B.
The easiest way to take the line of claimants out of contention is for B to die without brothers, sons, or uncles. But that's not funny.
Claimant B is a kid. His reagent and guardian need to finish his education and inspire him to get his rightful throne, and be a bit friendly to his backers.
Well, suppose claimant B then grows up and takes a few knights and goes out. He doesn't return for awhile and then the faction trying to put him on the throne gets a letter saying that B got a spiritual vision (it's probably a daydream, product of alcohol, or whatever since the Lord literally talking to characters is ASB, but let's say it's a convincing daydream) and he announces he's going to be a bishop/
But if they want to make him king, it's not like there isn't a precedent for bishops to be secular rulers a few kingdoms over

So what the faction trying to put his line going to do? If claimant B had a brother or uncle, it's easier to back him, but if he doesn't that doesn't do much. If he had his vision when he was a kid and under their case, he would be sent to his room or something, but he's in a castle just next door and out of the faction's control. The castle lord isn't going to be persuaded to hand over claimant B.
Continue the succession issue and make a King-Bishop?
I just found the idea to funny to pass up
