CIv 4 Mods query

So,

Now that the young one seems to be almost through teething, free time is starting to make a reappearance around the household.

As such, my interest in Civ 4 has been renewed. Given the general theme of the board, this seemed like it might be a good place to ask: What community-generated Mods do folks use/enjoy/recommend?

Many thanks-
B@W

RFC Europe was recommended to me and I've enjoyed what I've seen of it so far - it's basically Rhye's and Fall but on a big Europe map instead of the world, with adjusted units and resources. Considered to be an 'alpha' but is far more stable than you'd think from that description.

thanks - enjoyed the heck out of Rhye's (it and next war are my current faves), will have to try that out.

I just wish I could find one that pulls in the more out-there old CTP future-themed bits. - used to derive much evil glee from ramping up GW and watching all the filthy landlubbers sink whilst my undersea metropoli prospered. :D

Varietas Delectat adds a lot of new civilizations to the game, often with new unique units. I think it also has a few graphics enhancements thrown in as well. You can find it over at civfanatics.com.

There's a Confederate one I used to play heavily. There's a few out there, but this was far more indepth and developed than the others.
There was also a Russian rulers one would I used a lot which covered a massive list of Czars and Soviet Premiers. Sadly, I can't recall the names of either of these.

I'm quite impartial to Rise of Mankind myself, its almost an entirely new game. It adds units, buildings, and new time settings (Snail Pace, 3000 turn games), as well as increased maximum map size (Although that one is kind of a cruel mistress, because it also lags about twice as long on turn-change)
