Cinco de Mayo the Franco-Imperialists Win

As a Californian, my favorite What If is:

What if the Juaristas lost the Battle of Puebla?

Would Maximilian and the Imperialists have been able to defeat the Nationalists?

Would Maximilian have tried to unite his new "subjects" by leading them north to retake the lost Northern Territories?

What would be Washington's and Richmond's reaction to the Imperial Army crossing the Rio Bravo to the Rio Grande side?

Given enough time I think the French would have left. Meico's a nightmare to conquer considering how mountainous and deserty it is, I mean even the Spainiards with a 90% death rate of the locals, and massively further a head technology took about 100 years to fully pacify modern Mexico. It wll at least probably bring about a very different Mexico, with more unity and a different group of leaders. No idea how that would affect the American Civil War.
