Cilician Armenia (Little Armenia)

The neo-Armenian kingdom that was established in the former Byzantine province of Cilicia in Asia Minor. It fell to the Egyptian Mamelukes by 1375. Could it have lasted longer?

not without a good ammount of Crusading help (directly) or something more interesting to do for the Mamluks, such as interal disargeement or a crusade aimed at them (indirect help)

Had the Byzantines stuck around at similar borders to that of the Komnenan era (Alexios and Ionnes not Manuel his empire was untennable) then they could conceivably stuck around for a long time playing the major power players against each other (Provided Rum doesnt fall apart enough for the Byzantines to conquer them).

True, but wouldn't the Byzantines want the Cilicians Armenians as a vassal instead?

Staying as a relatively autonomous vassal still counts as surviving right?

Given the ability to make it happen, which a Byzantium as strong as mentioned here has, we're not looking at an autonomous principality, we're looking at Cilicia being part of the empire.

See Johnny K (to use Riain's catchy term) campaign there.
