Christian fundamentalist push to ban DnD unwittingly causes the expansion of space exploration

D&D=Dungeons and Dragons

AD&D=Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, one of the earlier editions of said game.

DM=Dungeon Master, the player who administers games, so to speak, roleplaying the characters in the story who aren't the player characters.

I'm old school and have a complete set of 1st Edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons books (except for Fiend Folio.)

My brother has some 2nd Edition stuff somewhere. And I'm stuck trying to see if I can find anything that isn't infrequently meeting 5th Edition or Dungeon Crawl Classics.

During the 1970s-90s the Christian fundamentalists are even more cocky and push to ban DnD. They ultimately fail and make the fundamentalist movement look like idiots.
That work well if Christian fundamentalists make large media campaign against D&D because is Satanic, Then go to court and get Bloody nose
That happen in 1970s against Porno and 1980s against Heavy Metall music and 1990s against computer games....

Special if they take this Witness into Court: Bill Schnoebelen
He claim to be member of Thelema and Rosicrucianism and Templar Knight and Wicca, to be a Warlock, freemason, a True Satanist, Mormon, Catholic, Vampire, UFO researcher and Former Leprechaun
Schnoebelen claim given the makers of D&D instruction for Satanic rituals for the Game, what John Todd, Mike Warne claim even today.

Even a lousy lawyer could pulverize Bill Schnoebelen testimony and reveal him what he is, a liar !

The outcome ?
The Christian fundamentalists disgraced themselves to gloating by Every one
D&D sales skyrocket after fundamentalists claimed there Satanic, one of package leaflet is advertising for Sci-Fi magazine Analog.
What sale also skyrocket (Analog were the first who advertising D&D)
Political the Republicans refrain from the Christian fundamentalists, because there most unbearable for there Politic and Voters.

Well, John Todd isn't disclaiming anything today, since he went to that Great Made-up Druidic Ritual In The Sky back in 2007.

And from wiki, one of Todd's lesser-known claims...

He also claimed that US President Jimmy Carter was the Antichrist[2] and that Ayn Rand's 1957 novel Atlas Shrugged was the Illuminati's blueprint for unleashing a planned Satanic takeover.

Witch hunters vs. Objectivism, aka What happens when an utterly insane force hits an absolutely irrational object?

Well, Ayn Rand was an atheist who wanted to change society so that one of the seven deadly sins would become the greatest virtue. And was also partial to four of the others. So honestly, that's probably the most reasonable target the witch hunters ever had.

Yeah, but Todd didn't confine himself to saying that Atlas Shrugged promoted an anti-Christian ideology(which would be pretty easy to back up), he took it to a whole other level of lunacy and said that it was a Protocols-style political plan to take over the world.
