Christian Assassins ?

In 1173 OTL the order of Assassins entered negotiations with Amalric I, king of Jerusalem over conversion to christianity, however they broke down because they were paying more tax as muslims and the king wanted the money. What if he didnt and took up their offer ? Could we have had a longer lasting assassins order that changed the course of the crusades ?

During the cursades and especially for the Latin states, conversion was a common place of historiography and negociations.

Countless demands were made from one side or another (even if i admit i didn't know about this one) and they don't really have to be taken seriously.

I was the one who originally a made thread discussing this. Well a lot of the local nobility, not exactly the King, would be upset because they wouldn't be able to extract money from the Assassins. It might help them in some degrees, you wouldn't have William of Montferrat's son Conrad killed, I think though it might give Saladin more reason to conquer Masyaf.
