Chinese Warlord Era games?

Is there any good computer games that cover the chinese Warlord Era (fall of the Empire until the end of the civil war)?

Dynasty Warriors and Romance of the Three Kingdoms are video game series surprising in the massive amounts of historical info behind them. One is a tactical action arcade-y beat 'em up (running from 1997 to 2013 with most games on the Playstation) while the other is a turn-based tactical role-playing simulation grand strategy wargame (originally released on the Amegia in 1985 you can now play the new games in the series on the PS3). Both are worth checking out.

EDIT: Oops. Wrong historical era.

There's a WWII and Chinese Civil War era mod for Mount and Blade, if you're into that sort of thing. It has a lot of the features from the era (though the later phase, influenced by WWII). Still partly in development though, but it already has a ton of interesting features.

Thanks for the pointer, will check it out

I'm not sure whether that's still the latest version. There might be a Mk III or even a version updated for Mount and Blade : Warband. I haven't checked in a long time.

You can play as China (multiple factions, IIRC) in WinSPWWII from Shrapnel Games. (It's a modernized total conversion of the 90s classic Steel Panthers - though the studio didn't buy the name, they bought the rights from the original creators and are the new publishers now.) The game covers a 1920s-1950s timeframe, so you won't have to play purely WWII-style engagements between armies.

I am not sure how the Hearts of Iron games from Paradox Interactive handle interwar and WWII China. You'll be better off asking some board members who have played that series extensively.
