Instead of americans being afriad of mass of chinese coming in, they develop a idealistic(in a good way) view on the chinese. Instead of viewing the chinese as uneducated peasants, perhaps a large number of people can be influenced by historical facts that the chinese invented tons of stuff in the past.

And they develop this view that the Qing government is there to oppress new ideas, and prevent those chinese from using their talents. Hence american society as a whole viewed chinese as a talented group of people who is oppressed heavily by the Qing government, and not allowing those chinese to use their talent.

So, the US bascially allow mass of chinese to come into the US easily, en mass.

If we assume that later in time, the chinese has a population that is comparable with the whites, or form a huge minority, what will happen to the US, socially speaking?
