Has there been any discussion of this excellent film and its AH possibilities? In many respects it can be appreciated as AH anyway, since, other than the few minor technological innovations shown, it pretty much could have been based on a 1980's is PoD, with the events happening in the present day.

Or, what if one took the PoD (sudden and complete infertility of the human race) and moved it to 1940? How might this have affected geopolitical/social events in the latter half of the century?

In the book the POD was the summer of 1994 when GPs and hospital prenatal staff started to notice that their appointment books were completely empty.
