Not to mention that, if the Chinese/North Koreans did manage to produce any chemical weapons of their own, they would presumably be simpler ones like chlorine or phosgene that the UN/US forces would not have much difficulty countering.

I really don't see it being that much of an issue as I doubt the UN forces will be pushing into China at least not to any significant degree. If we assume that to be the case it'll mean that the UN will be well entrenched on a relatively static front by the time the Chinese could even possibly have any amount of chemical weapons worth mentioning unless Stalin decides to start supplying them with the stuff whole sell.

It would be an encumbrance, but I think that if the balance of chemical warfare is that the UN forces are encumbered, while the Chinese forces are dying in huge numbers due to not having the right kind of protective gear for more advanced US chemical weapons then it's a win for the UN.
