Chavez doesn't get cancer

Well? It's probably to early to tell what the repercussions of a more stable Venezuela would be for the world stage but this would be interesting.

Think the U.S. poisoned him?

Wait, what??

No, I don't think he was poisoned. I know all about the many CIA-operations against Fidel Castro, such as Operation Mongoose, so I'm not going to say it's completely ASB. But I would need to see some very strong evidence before I'm going to believe any conspiracy theories about the U.S. poisoning Hugo Chavez.

Even though Venezuela might be more stable initially as there won't be new elections, the country could still become a mess at some point. The economic system in the country is pretty much at the breaking point due to Chavez's mismanagement. In the longer term it could tarnish his reputation as it won't be his successor who would need to solve those problems (high inflation, infrastructural problems, shortages in shops, growing debt).
