So, I know that this has been discussed a fair bit, but say Emperor Charles VI's son Leopold had survived, would that have changed much about what happened during CHarles's reign? Naturally, he wouldn't have spent so much time focusing on getting the pragmatic succession recognised, which might well stop the removal of the Ostend Company, but what else might it change? Charles does seem as if he might've had good intentions but he was able or willing to act on them. Would he have still ignored Eugene of Savoy's suggestions about reforming the military, consequently hampering Austria? Without a war of succession, due to having his son survive, could Austria keep the rich province of Silesia?
