Charles Martel defeated at the Battle of Tours

If Charles Martel lost, would we see Islam become Europe's dominant religion due to the Muslims pouring into Europe? Would the Caliphate stop at France, or go into Britain, Italy, the Low Countries or Germany? And if the Caliphate retains all this power, could we possibly see different Muslim factions colonize the New World at a later date? Cordoba would probably take the place of Spain, and would Christianity be confined into Europe, tolerated by the invaders, or quite possibly wiped out altogether?

LSCatilina has a brilliant response to one of the last times this question was asked but I cannot find it at present.

Essentially, Tours was not a last ditch attempt to stop "the Moors" but one of several battles - as they were not a cohesive invasion but more a series of opportunistic attacks. The Caliphate won't last long past the Pyrenees and will get reduced by Crusades and Conquista-like attacks.

Quite. Charles stopped a raid, not a full-force invasion. Quite likely it was not even a victory, certainly not a decisive one (the Muslim forces left the field after the first day of battle).... Poitier was engraved in history as an iconic victory in the clash of civilization because even in the 8th century there were good spin doctors :D:D
