so I'm reading "Is Paris Burning" about the end of the occupation of France, any ways in it the authors state that de Gaulle planned on returning to France on 14 June 1944, thanks to deep fog and his fighter escort not showing up de Gaulle's plane was on the last of it's 4 fuel tanks, and the pilot wanted to land in England, but de Gaulle said he would only land in France which they managed to do, with 120 seconds of fuel left, so what if it had taken just 2 minutes longer to find an air field or to get to land and de Gaulle's plane had crashed killing the General?
