Ok so when the Germans and Soviets signed the pact, it included the clause that the Soviets would take eastern Poland, amongst other areas, as their sphere of influence. What if, however, the Germans changed this, they took all of Poland but the Soviets were allowed Finland and the Baltic states still.

Never mind the plausibility, but what effects would it have? The German forces would be closer to Russian territory when Barbarossa commences, would that have any benefit? Or would it be a negative for the Germans? Assuming the invasion still occurs 21st June 1941.
