In the early days of New France Samuel Champlain determined to join with the Huron and other native tribes in a series of attacks on the Iroquis.
As a result the Iroquis held a grudge until the end of New France and managed to inflict major losses on the French colonists over a period of decades.
Given that the Iroquis displayed a clear and consistent interest in trade the old argument that only the Huron could provide the furs desired is pretty much discredited, indeed, the amount that the Iroquis could and did sell the English, Dutch and even the French was quite impressive.
So...what if Champlain refuses to support the attacks on the Iroquis and New France is spared decades of fighting to come?
