Champions League:one butterfly for season

Pick up a match and turn just one episode such as:
1)a post hit
2)a goal not conceded/given
3)a penalty not conceded/given
etc

into:
1)a goal
2)a goal given/not conceded
3)a penalty given/not conceded
etc

the accident must be real, not invented and based on factual proof, like for instance Youtube videos of that match and must be able to switch the outcome of that match

note:to make things easier the away goal rule works since the very first season of the competition as well penalty shoot out

I begin:
1955-56
in the semifinal Real Madrid-Partizan Beograd the Yugos mark goal in the first half and the number 4 Lesmes doesn't save
you can see this at 1'41''

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQ5oF1krD4k

so the semi in ATL ends Real-Partizan=4-1 instead of 4-0
in the return Partizan beats Real 3-0, just like in OTL of course and passes to the final where they will beat Stade de Reims

consequences for the next season:
just one Spanish team in Champions League, i.e. the National champions of La Liga Athletic Bilbao
and two Yugoslavian clubs, the Euro champions Partizan and Red Star, the champions of Yugoslavia
Partizan will be scheduled as Real Madrid, therefore meeting Rapid Wien, Nice etc
while Red Star and Bilbao will be scheduled as in the OTL

That's an interesting idea. I'm not too familiar with the first decades of European Cup history, so I'll join in when we're in the early 1980s.

Thank you Brundlefly

meanwhile in Yugo...
the players of Partizan are welcomed by an immense crowd in Beograd...
even Marshal Tito applauds them and rewards them with a special medal to commemorate the event...
after all they have done really a great achievement, winning the first European Cup for clubs and especially eliminating Real Madrid, who at the time was considered the strongest team in Europe.
Tito also stresses the fact the sport of a socialist country have proved to be superior than that of a Franchist one (Real Madrid) and also that of a capitalistic one (Stade de Reims)

in Spain people and institutions are still disappointed, they strongly criticized the decision to play the return semi in Beograd despite the pitch gotten rough by snow and ice...

Season 1956-57:

Real Madrid doesn't take part of course and replaced by Partizan Beograd
in OTL Real hardly passes the first turn against Rapid Wien, then beats easily Nice and Man UTD

In the OTL first turn Real beat at home Rapid 4-2 and loses away 1-3, that would mean watchin Rapid advancing, beating Nice and then United, before smashing Fiorentina in the final
with all the simpathy one may feel for Rapid that's HIGHLY unlikely

so I take this approach
Partizan return to the pitch with still the mind at Paris, where they won the cup and strongly underestimate the Austrians, who played till the death
in Belgrade Rapid Wien loose 2-4 but in Wien they win just 2-1 instead 3-1.
Why?
because the referee doesn't give Rapid a penalty at 38'

so Partizan reach the final and by beating Fiorentina graduates for the second time on a raw Champion of Europe, enterin the legend of football

consequences for the next season:

ATL=again two yugo times in the competition, Red Star and Partizan while only Real for Spain
OTL=only Red Star for Yugo and Real, Sevilla for Spain

Season 1957-58:

finally Real makes it!

Sevilla is replaced by Partizan Belgrade while Real Madrid and Red Star Belgrade play their own OTL

in the quarter final Real and "Partizan" meets
in OTL Real smashes 8-0 Sevilla, that played like shit in that season (I assume they sold a lot of good players otherwise doesn't make sense...)
I cannot make Partizan loose 0-8 in Madrid but whatever...
Real beats the twice Eurochampions of Partizan and advance to the final...

the OTL final was Real-Milan 2-2 then 3-2 after extra time

this season has been pretty frustrating because with one POD you don't change anything, btw I think Real deserves at least one cup in the late 50s :D

consequences for the next season:
nothin

Season 1958-59:

the POD here is extremely significative
Atletico de Madrid and Real meets in the semis
in OTL Real won the first leg 2-1 and loose the second 0-1 but in the end won the play off again 2-1

here the butterfly effect could just be the away goal rule but I can also make Puskas missing the penalty at 33'...

anyway Atletico de Madrid goes to the final and by beating Stade de Reims win its first "Champions League"

consequences for the next season:

no Real Madrid in the competition but Atletico replaces it

Season 1959-60

Atletico won again
I cannot imagine any POD here since the lack of videos
maybe puttin Wiener Sportclub instead Eintracht Frankfurt into the final
in OTL the Germans won 2-1 at home and drew 1-1 away
if they drew 2-2 at home...

but I could't fine any video about the macht...

so the final is still:
Atletico de Madrid-Eintracht Frankfurt=7-3

consequences for the next season:
Barcelona and Atletico take part to the competition instead of Barcelona and Real

Season 1960-61

Atletico loose to Barça in the eitgh of final
in the semi's second leg against Hamburg the ref ends the game a few seconds earlier so Kocsis cannot score
Barcelona-Hamburg 1-0; 0-2

Final:
Benfica Lisboa-Hamburger SV=3-2

consequences for next season:
nothing

List of Champions and runners up:

1955-56 Partizan Belgrade-Stade Reims
1956-67 Partizan Belgrade-Fiorentina
1957-58 Real Madrid-Milan
1958-59 Atletico Madrid-Stade Reims
1959-60 Atletico Madrid-Eintracht Frankfurt
1960-61 Benfica Lisbon-Hamburg

Season 1955-56

Have Hibernian win their semi final, and go on to face Real Madrid in the final.

This was actually in a piece the Guardian did a couple years ago; the 10 Greatest European Cup Finals that never happened.

Hibernians lost both matches and failed to score even one goal
to make it pass to the final we should insert a lot of pods...

Season 1961-62

no pod
I've watched the two legged semi between Tottenham and Benfica, both teams hit posts and save goals on the line, overall Benfica deserved to pass

also the triple legged quarter final between Juventus and Real Madrid follows the same pattern, in the end Madrid deserves to pass

I don't change anything on this season

final:
Benfica-Real Madrid=5-3

Season 1962-63

in second half of the quarter Benfica-Dukla Prague the ref concedes a penalty (scored) to the Czech, who pass to the semi and then to the final when they will be anyway beaten by Milan

final:
Milan-Dukla 2-1

Season 1963-64

quarter final first leg
Real Madrid-Milan doesn't end 4-1 but instead 3-1
in OTL Cesare Maldini got injured and left Milan with one man less
in ATL this didn't happen
in the second leg Milan win 2-0 and passes the turn

the final was the first one between two teams of the same country and even the first between two teams of the same city

Final:
Inter-Milan=3-1

(no consequences for the next season)

Season 1964-65

again POD in quarter final
in ATL the first goal scored by Inter agaisnt Rangers Glasgow is disallowed so they in Sin Siro win only 2-1
in the return match the Scotch managed to score the single winnin goal, as in OTL

final:
Glasgow Rangers-Benfica Lisbon=1-0

for the first time an anglo-saxon club win the trophy

consequences for the next season:

Rangers goes to Champion's League aside Kilmarnok, the Champions of Scotland

List of Champions and runners up of the first ten years:

1955-56 Partizan Belgrade-Stade Reims
1956-67 Partizan Belgrade-Fiorentina
1957-58 Real Madrid-Milan
1958-59 Atletico Madrid-Stade Reims
1959-60 Atletico Madrid-Eintracht Frankfurt
1960-61 Benfica Lisbon-Hamburg
1961-62 Benfica Lisbon-Real Madrid
1962-63 Milan-Dukla Prague
1963-64 Inter-Milan
1964-65 Glasgow Rangers-Benfica Lisbon

Season 1965-66:
in the semifinal first leg UTD's Connelly's goals isn't disallowed due to off side
the match ends 2-1 for Partizan Belgrade
in the return match they as in OTL loose 0-1 and miss the final

final:
Real Madrid-Manchester United=2-1

(no consequences for the next season)

Season 1966-67:

semifinal in Sofia:
CSKA scores a goal instead of hitting a post (you can see it at 0'31'') and win the return game 2-1, so no play off needed

final:
Glasgow Celtic-CSKA Sofia=2-1
(no consequences for the next year)

Season 1967-68

I've searched on and on but no single pod here can really change the outcome occured in OTL

final:
Manchester United-Benfica=4-1 after extra time

The effects on the Spanish League are quite interesting. With Atletico being the dominant club in Europe, Franco would probably support them (he actually was an Atletico fan, but later switched to Real when they were more successful - you could say that he was en event fan :D).

I didn't know that passion of Franco
well from what I've seen now I smell Atletico and Real in ATL will be a closer tie as regard Eurocups, something like the rivalry between Milan and Inter in Milano.

Between late 50s and early 60s Atletico win 2 Champions League, 1 Intercontinetal Cup and 1 Cup Winners' Cup
while Real only 1 Champions'

even thou I think in the long run Blancos will outperform Atletico, I cannot create a pod against them everytime :p

Season 1968-69

I'm very struggled between making advance to the final Man UTN instead of Milan or Spartak Trnava instead of Ajax, both semis were figh to death
Since I like bis I'll go with the first option, Milan wins only 2-1, in the final they win against Ajax 4-1

consequences for the next season:

two British teams in CL, Man UTD and Leeds, and just one Italian, Fiorentina
