Challenge:Yugoslavia holds

With a POD after Tito's death, have Yugoslavia survive with its OTL borders to the present day. It can have any form of government, and although it can be a loose federation, it must be at least officially a single state.

Slobodan Milošević, banker from SR Serbia had a heart attack in 1980. and died next day in VMA in Belgrade.;)

Izetbegovic and Tudjman are still alive in that case. You still have strong nationalist and separatism movements in other republics, you just remove one side of the story partially. At worst nationalist movement in Serbia simply finds another person to be The Leader.

Brotherhood and Unity was complete failure in practice. Serbs knew that Croats and Slovenians were oppressing them and hodling them back trough Yugoslavia. Croats and Slovenians knew that Yugoslavia was just a excuse for Belgrade ergo Serb rule.

But maybe, a bit more successful of integration into Yugoslav/Communist identity, and better management of economy after 1980. could prevent decrease in life quality that led people into nationalism.

Yes, but not every nationalism leads to separatism. often they settle for more autonomy, if they believe they got good deal.

Izetbegović and Tuđman wouldn't be elected if it were no Milošević.
Yes, serbian nationalists would have found a new leader, but IMO, the deal was possible without Milošević.
