Challenge: WWII in the 1920s

In the past, there have been a number of scenarios and threads about the possibility of a WWIII breaking out between the western Allies and the Soviet Union immediately upon or shortly after Germany's surrender in WWII. Now, here's a bit of a challenge: a conflict erupting in the 1920s between the former Entente powers that escalates into a second world war.

Is there any plausible POD/scenario for this to occur, and what would be the consequences?

You would need the first world war to end earlier without everybody being so exausted. Maybe Wilson somehow gets peace in place through negotiations just after the Somme? Then perhaps the Soviets win against Poland and get very aggressive so you see the entente plus Germany vs the Soviets (not a pretty picture)

people were very much tired of war at that time, so not so many chances for it to happen.

Maybe if some information surfaced that put events of the great war in a completely different perspective.

Something like that France & Russia were actually controlling the black hand movement (the one Gavrilo Princip was a member of) and that they ordered the assassination of Arch Duke Franz-Ferdinand. And this leaks out.

Or something to the extent of the zimmermann telegram being a fake.
And that some supposed German activity, was in reality done by entente agents.
Although this last one would only mess up the relations between the us and the other entente members, not causing anything directly.
