Challenge: Viking state in al-Andalus

Although the Vikings did raid the Emirate of Córdoba, they didn't stay for long. How could you get a longterm Viking state in al-Andalus, like the Danelaw in England or Normandy in France?

When did this take place (I mean the raid)? According to Wikipedia, the emirate lasted until 929. Would they convert to Islam?

The Vikings raided Islamic Iberia several times from 844 to 966.

I imagine they would stay pagan for at least a decade, but could convert within a generation like the Normans did.

However it's possible they could convert to either Christianity or Islam. Since the loot they wanted to target would have been held by the Islamic nobles and merchants, and the rural majority population was Christian, they might convert to Christianity. But if they wanted to instead make peace with the Muslim lords of al-Andalus, legitimize their rule, and join the "feudal" (I know, not really feudal) system then they would convert to Islam.

Was a Andalusian Viking against the christians possible?

By the way I watched the latest episode of History's Vikings and they showed Arab/Andalusian traders in the Viking's capital. I know that show is pretty inaccurate, but did trade between the two even exist?

IIRC when the Emirate fell a whole bunch of slaves set off and carved out a short-lived polity. They were mostly slav but wouldn't be too hard to give them Norse leadership if you inject the right person.
