Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to bring Ingria (including St Petersburg) back under Swedish rule by 1800 with a POD after the Treaty of Nystad.
Sweden can't win on it's own against Russia. Sweden need to be on the winning side of a napoleon-esque, which I guess could occur before 1800...
But what allies? Russia needs to lose real big. Napoleon is the only possible ally I can come up with...I don't see why that would be necessary, they just need strong allies.

But do you have another idea?
The problem with that is that Russia don't have real enemies that could threaten it's core territory. PLC doesn't count anymore, Khanates don't exist for centuries, Ottomans are too far away and Sweden is out, too.The basic diplomatic dance of European powers should do the trick. You look at the 18th century, you see Austria nearly getting KO'd early out of the War of Spanish Succession, France barely avoiding disaster in the later stage of the aforementioned conflict and then experiencing it during the 7 Years' War, Sweden ceasing to be a Great Power after the Great Northern War, Prussia nearly dismembered in the 7YW, and Britain thrown off its pedestal during the American Revolutionary War. There's nothing stopping Russia from experiencing a catastrophic defeat if they compile the right list of enemies.

So, Prussoaustrofrench army occupies Courland and Karelia. Hardly dismemberment of Russia. You put a French or Prussian or Austrian army in Karelia and Courland and see how that counts.

That's weird, because Karelia isn't Swedish and Courland Polish (well, you could argue for the later). Happy marching to Zalesye, upper Dnieper and Volga from thereChrissakes, I meant put them in Polish and Swedish territory and attack Russia from there.
In the post #5, with Russia possibly experiencing such crushing defeat that Prussia, Austria, and Sweden faced at the time (France was in similar position to Russia. No one is going to take enough from it for France stopping being great power)When did I ask for that?

I remember a timeline I cooperated in where Catherine's coup fails and Peter goes to war with Denmark over Schleswig and fails badly. He's deposed and Russia descends into civil war and Sweden takes the oppurtunity to get back what has been lost. In such a scenario, Sweden might take Saint Petersburg and get it in a peace as the Imperial Guard takes Ivan to Moscow to get some kind of government.
