sorry; I must've missed seeing the date in the initial posts. I see "Morisco" and I think "mid-1500s at the latest".

I can imagine mobs blaming Moriscos for bad harvests, epidemics or some other nonsense and trying to hurt them from time to time. However, what is unthinkable to me is your asseveration that those same mobs would dare to attack the king's troops that were the proud of the nation to press the king to expel the Moriscos out of the country. That's not the mindset of the 17th century Spanish peasant.

I didn't say that the mobs would attack the troops or the King -- I was pointing out that mobs have been the cause of more than one emmigrating group of families (and cited my grandparents)
 
Ah, sorry. When you said it would cause some "problems in the short term" I though you meant problems for the Spanish monarchy.
