Challenge: non-dinosaur extinct animals populat in pop-culture

One Million Years B.C. (ergo "that one with Raquel Welch") gets sequels?

there was one, titled "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth". It didn't star Welch, but it did have a former Playmate of the Year. It didn't have Harryhausen's special affects, it was Jim Danforth instead. It was entirely forgettable. I have it on a VCR tape...

(P.S., welcome to AH.com, by the way! You joined exactly 5 years after I did; what a coincidence, eh? :D:p)
That's no coincidence -- I'm actually a future you from a dystopian future. I've been sent back to the past by the resistance to stop the War With the Spam Bots before it starts and save the whole of AH.com. ;)

Might a reason for the popularity of dinosaurs thus far be related to the fact that it's easier to animatronic or render scales instead of hair or feathers, which our other megafauna all have?
*Cough* These guys never head feathers *cough*
