Challenge: no rap/hiphop music

Holy Threadomancy, Batman!

No Blues Brothers? My God, what a horrific world that must be. :(

Well, if you think those PODs are a little rough, consider the following:

-Prevent MTV from airing in 1981, especially before the 1983 release of the "Thriller" video by Michael Jackson. Remember that prior to 1983, there were no major African-American artists whose videos were featured on MTV. Without MTV, African-American culture has a a major hurdle in entering the American mainstream...

-Prevent Soul Train (1971-1993) from airing. From 1971-1993, Soul Train was the premiere venue for urban and predominantly African-American culture from entering "mainstream" America. Before anyone considers this an exaggeration, consider that the following white artists who made their debut on the show:

* Paula Abdul
* Christina Aguilera
* Beastie Boys
* Backstreet Boys
* Michael Bolton
* Sheena Easton
* New Kids on the Block
* Pet Shop Boys
