Challenge: Nazi Terrorist Group

I wonder what might have happened had the Cold War been avoided (some kind of deal over Poland)

I think that the allies would have been harsher than in OTL. Much more intense DeNazification.

Maybe the weirwolves would have been a problem

The fact that Nazi evil was fully exposed, has made it much harder for Nazi terroists to form as they have a smaller *support pool* to form from in the first place,

In all fairness, it might actually appear more attractive than the alternative to various third party nations.

I mean, you don't want to throw your lot in with the former Western Allies, you don't want to join up with the Soviets. Not a lot of options besides those, and this hypothetical Nazi group would probably boast quite a few useful assets in terms of research and training. I think at least a few nations would tolerate them - if not actively help them - if it meant benefitting from their training and tech designs.

There's quite a few Nazi terrorist groups out there OTL. There's WAR ( White Aryan Resistance) , the Order , the National Vanguard , Combat 18 , the Hammerskins , the Aryan Republican Army ,The Covenant, The Sword, and the Arm of the Lord and those are just the ones I can name off the top of my head.

One point I want bring uo is, that I don´t think that the Nazis had the right mindset to become good terrorist. Okay, they had surly no problem killing people, but as terrorist you have to be prepared to be the underdog and a martyrer. But Hitler promised the Nazis to be materman and not underdogs. He promised them heroic death on the battlefield, not dying anonym in a NKVD or OSS torture chamber. As far as I know, no of this guys show in prison some kind of a backbone.I think there are good reasons, because the whole Werewolf-thing never took off.

Terroroism from the whole Nazi/Fascist/völkisch/ultranational spectrum (and the NSDAP embraced the lot) was quite significant in the years before their takeover. Of course the majority of its followers weren't the right stuff, but that is true for all violent political movements. The ideology certainly supports it (martyrdom was big in the early party propaganda) and the actions of a bunch of ageing politicians in prison shouldn't lead us conclude they were all like that. A lot of senior Nazis killed themselves or went underground, which indicates an degree of dedication, at least.

The big thing IMO is that you need to give a putative Nazi terror network a erason to become active (they have no hope of restoring themselves to power, so it mustbe something else) and a source of support (terror groups without support networks don't live long). Werwolf failed IMO because it had no recruiting reservoir worth mentioning. People were sick and tired of the war, convinced they werebeaten, and terrified of the Allies. No reason to fight, no hope to achieve anything. You'd hae to change that.
