Challenge: Most Interesting List of US Presidents 1952-2012

I'm challenging everyone to be creative here and come up with the most interesting list of presidents they can from 1952 to the present day. The 22nd amendment is optional, celebrity presidents are welcome, and third party movements are encouraged. Discussion of what the timelines would look like is also encouraged.

Now for my list:

1952: Dwight D. Eisenhower/Harold Stassen (R)
1956: Dwight D. Eisenhower/Harold Stassen (R)
1960: Dwight D. Eisenhower/Harold Stassen (R)
1964: Robert F. Kennedy/Stuart Symington (D)
1968: Barry Goldwater/William E. Miller (R)
1972: Barry Goldwater/William E. Miller (R)
1976: Terry Sanford/Robert Byrd (D)
1978: Robert Byrd/Walter Mondale (D) (Terry Sanford assassinated)
1980: Les Paul/George H.W. Bush (R) (Think Reagan but more socially liberal)
1984: Les Paul/George H.W. Bush (R)
1988: Sandra Day O'Connor-Paul/Jack Kemp (R) (No one ever does alternate marriages)
1992: Ross Perot/James Stockdale (I)
1996: Ross Perot/James Stockdale (I)
2000: John McCain/Hillary Rodham (R) (Since she was a Goldwater girl)
2004: John McCain/Hillary Rodham (R)
2008: Jesse Jackson/Eric Shinseki (D)
2012: Jesse Jackson/Eric Shinseki (D)

So, with that, tell me what could have been done better and what is too OTLish, and what my timeline would look like, then, make your own and see what people think about it.

Being lazy here, but how about Franklin Delano Roosevelt Jr. (the one who died in infancy in 1909, not the one who was born in 1914) as president from 1952 until his death in 2001, with various vice presidents. A charismatic son of Franklin Roosevelt was probably the only one since George Washington who could have been president for life. The Franklin Roosevelt Jr who survived actually went into politics and got as far as the Federal House of Representatives, but wasn't the politician his father was.

[1] The source of our POD. The Korean War goes a lot better for the United Nations, resulting in a complete rollback of North Korea and an establishment of a peninsula-wide Republic of Korea. This shelved, Truman decides he will seek a third term, and without a primary scare from Kefauver, comes out on top, while the GOP nominated Bob Taft.

Truman would go on to crush Taft, and would spend his third term securing the creation of a single-payer health insurance system, Medicare, for the American public and fighting for Civil Rights.

[2] President Jackson dies in office on September 1, 1983.

[3] The United States' first Jewish President.

(1)Marshall dies in office 1959. Stevenson serves remainder of term with Estes Kefauver as V.P.

(2)Kennedy's health declined markedly from the end of 1963, ending what had once seemed an inexorable march to the Presidency.

(3)Elected on the Reform Party ticket, the charismatic Lauper is widely considered the greatest president of the 20th Century. Nonetheless, once she was out of office, the Republicans and Democrats rushed the 29th Amendment through at unprecedented speed, thus limiting future presidents to two terms in office.

(4)Since President Lauper never married, President Bush's husband, John Ellis Bush, became the USA's first "First Gentleman".

(5)President Bush killed in motor vehicle accident 2010, McCain serves remainder of term with Dana Owens as VP.

Of all the Kennedys to be an actor, Bobby would be the least suited to the role, personality-wise. Absolutely incapable of faking emotion among other things.

Perhaps I screwed up the notation, but Robert Kennedy was supposed to be noted as the first roman catholic president, not the first actor President.

The latter position belongs to President Newman.

I'll edit the list to make it more clear
